Welcome - I’m Stevie
Author, coach and community founder, I'm passionate about helping women find friendship, inspiration and practical support as they create a retirement they genuinely love living
Background & experience
Alongside my own personal experience of navigating retirement and major life transitions, I also hold professional coaching qualifications gained in the UK. These provide a strong foundation for the warm, practical and supportive approach that runs through everything I do.
Throughout my professional career, I had the privilege of coaching and supporting many people through periods of change—from leadership challenges and career development to significant life and work transitions. Those years taught me the value of listening deeply, asking thoughtful questions and helping people discover their own path forward.
Today, through my business The Joyful Retirement Coach, I help women navigate retirement in ways that suit their individual needs. Some enjoy the support of one-to-one coaching, others prefer books, articles or workshops, while many become part of The Joyful Retirement Community—a friendly, supportive space where women can connect, share ideas and inspire one another. Whatever path they choose, my goal is to help every woman create a retirement that feels meaningful, connected and joyful.
I bring experience in:
Professional one-to-one coaching and guided conversations
Supporting people through life transitions and change
Creating and nurturing warm, welcoming online communities
Facilitating group discussions, workshops and shared learning
Writing practical retirement-focused books and resources
Helping women reflect, reconnect and move forward with confidence
My approach
I believe there is no single "right" way to enjoy retirement. Every woman brings her own experiences, hopes and challenges to this stage of life, and every journey is different.
That's why I aim to offer support in a variety of ways. Some women enjoy the encouragement and friendship of The Joyful Retirement Community. Others find inspiration in an article, practical guidance in a book, the shared experience of a workshop, or the personalised support of one-to-one coaching.
Whatever brings you here, my hope is that you'll find a warm welcome, practical ideas and gentle encouragement to help you create a retirement that feels meaningful, connected and joyful.
Who I Support
I work with women who are:
Approaching retirement or newly retired
Settling into retirement but wondering what's next
Looking for more purpose, confidence or connection
Adjusting to unexpected changes or life transitions
Keen to meet like-minded women and share experiences
Ready to make small changes that lead to a more joyful retirement
A little more personally
Outside of leading the community, coaching and writing, I enjoy the quieter things in life — long conversations over coffee, cooking, walking my dog Flynn, and spending time with my husband, children and grandchildren here in Perth.
Like many women, I believe that retirement is not simply about stopping work. It is about finding a new rhythm, new meaning, and creating a life that still feels connected, purposeful and joyful.
That belief sits at the heart of everything I do and is what led me to create The Joyful Retirement Coach.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Retirement was a much bigger adjustment than I expected. I had spent many years in a busy career, supporting and coaching others, and suddenly that structure disappeared. Although I had plenty to be grateful for, I also found myself asking, Who am I now? What do I want this next chapter to look like?
As I talked to other women, I realised I wasn't alone. Many were feeling excited about retirement, but also uncertain, disconnected or unsure how to create a life that felt fulfilling once work was no longer at the centre of it.
The Joyful Retirement Coach grew from those conversations and my own experience. Today, through the Joyful Retirement Community, coaching, workshops and writing, I help women create a retirement that feels purposeful, balanced and genuinely joyful—one small step at a time.

Because women often experience retirement differently.
Many of us have spent decades caring for others, building careers, supporting families and putting our own needs towards the bottom of the list. When retirement arrives, it isn't simply about stopping work—it can raise questions about identity, purpose, confidence, relationships and what we want this next stage of life to become.
As a woman who has navigated many of these changes myself, I understand the conversations that often sit beneath the surface. That shared understanding allows me to create a warm, supportive space where women feel comfortable talking honestly and exploring what a joyful retirement means for them.
While the ideas I share could benefit anyone, I've chosen to specialise in supporting women so that everything I offer is designed with their experiences and challenges in mind.
